Abstract:
In this presentation, transition-metal oxide devices based on the first-order metal-insulator transition (MIT) of NdNiO3 (NNO) or the interfacial phenomena between antiferromagnetic YCrO3 (YCO) and heavy metal will be discussed. In the first part, the percolative electronic transport in NNO nanogaps is investigated by reducing the transport measurement area to dimensions comparable to the domain size of insulating and metallic NNO phases around the MIT temperature. In the second part, the antiferromagnetic properties along with weak ferromagnetism of YCO and the interfacial magneto-transport in Pt/YCO Hall bars are studied in order to understand the interplay between non-collinear magnetic YCO and non-magnetic metal with strong spin-orbit coupling.
